Heat pumps 2017 Leader in building permits
27.04.2018

Economic and ecological technology on the rise

According to information from the German Federal Statistical Office, heat pumps ranked first in 2017 for building permits for residential buildings. With a considerable 43% share, they have left behind the previous heating technology based on gas as an energy resource. Of these, around 35% are from primary environmental sources, ie air or groundwater, and 8% from geothermal energy.

Heat pump technology also performed well in terms of all new building permits last year, including non-residential buildings. With at least 41%, it was almost on par with gas heating technology (42%).

These outstanding figures are further milestones on the way to an economically and ecologically sensible future in the selection of heating technology in construction. Heat pumps from SmartHeat offer solutions for a wide variety of applications.
