Full of ideas and full of energy - that's SmartHeat

In August 2000, we emerged as a pure production company for heat pumps and matching accessories from a group of companies that had existed since 1991 and was exclusively active in the field of renewable energy. Building on this know-how, the development and production of heat pumps was our core business from the start.

While the heat pumps were initially mainly installed in the region, they were soon manufactured for the whole of Germany as well as for customers in Europe and worldwide.

In addition to our excellent series products for single-family homes, we saw early on the future potential for large heat pumps for villas and also for commercial and industrial use, local heating networks and districts. In addition, we also design solutions for special areas of application depending on specifications and individual requirements. Today, such special solutions are among our strengths. We use natural sources such as earth, water and air as well as waste heat, waste water, process and industrial heat. Reversible SmartHeat heat pumps can heat and cool.

In April 2007, a move was necessary for capacity reasons and the new plant was inaugurated in an industrial park near the town of Güstrow. In addition to spacious storage and production areas, a newly equipped large training area was created here, which is available to our customers and partners for seminars, training and further education measures.

In 2023, another new production hall was necessary for the production of heat pumps. In our production, SmartHeat standard heat pumps, OEM products and special heat pumps are carefully manufactured according to engineering specifications. They are put through their paces on specially developed test benches. Of course, the SmartHeat company buildings are also supplied with heating and cooling energy using heat pumps - sustainable products and sustainable production.

Having been at the forefront of the introduction and implementation of new heat pump technologies for many years, we have been able to receive a number of recognitions in the form of prizes and awards over the years.

• 2002: Design Prize – recognition of the classic product series
• 2002: Technology Prize for the bravour product series (pioneer of compact heat pumps)
• 2004: The group of companies was named finalist in the Grand Prize for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises
• 2007: Entry into inverter technology (pioneer of inverter heat pumps)
• 2007: Production expansion
• 2010: Award for the Juist seawater indoor pool project by the BWP e. V.
