Our range of services as a heat pump manufacturer

SmartHeat is an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for heat pumps of all common source types. So that you can focus entirely on your sales, we take care of the entire development and production process for you, flexibly.

All heat pump types from a single source

Our development team of engineers, designers, and programmers realizes exactly the technology you need for your product range. We build for you:

• Air/water heat pumps for the efficient use of ambient air.
• Brine/water heat pumps for tapping geothermal energy via probes or collectors.
• Water/water heat pumps for using groundwater, waste heat, process heat, or cooling water.

On request, we also work with you to tap alternative heat sources such as river water or lake water.

Output range and configuration

We don't force your ideas into rigid product series. We design every OEM heat pump completely customer-specifically – your requirements define the final product. The following parameters are available for your planning:

The OEM process: 5 steps to your custom-built heat pump

We often accompany our partners from an initial rough vision all the way to a market-ready product. We guide you through this complex path so you can focus confidently on your core business. Here's how our collaboration works:

Step 1: Requirements analysis and consultation

We listen closely. You share your technical requirements, the planned operating conditions, and your target markets with us. Together, we define the exact parameters for your new OEM product.

Step 2: Design study and simulation

To give you planning certainty from the very start, our engineers create detailed design studies. We digitally simulate the operating behavior so that you receive precise performance forecasts even before the first component is built.

Step 3: Prototype and performance measurement

Now your idea becomes tangible. We build a functional prototype and measure performance data under real conditions on our test rigs. These results form the reliable foundation for your series release.

Step 4: Certification and approval

We guide you safely through the maze of EU standards and testing. Our quality team coordinates all necessary steps for CE marking. We remain completely flexible: we are happy to work with the testing institutes of your choice to achieve final approval to your standards.

Step 5: Series production

Once everything is perfected, series production begins at our plant in Güstrow. Whether small-batch or large-volume – we adapt to your needs. Thanks to our international production capacities, we can scale your quantities flexibly at short notice.

At our Güstrow site in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, we bring development and production together under one roof. All OEM models are based on our own designs, which we realize with a high proportion of in-house assembly and quality components from renowned manufacturers. For you, this means: thanks to the short distances between our engineering and production, we can adapt details to your wishes quickly and flexibly.

ISO 9001-certified processes

So that you can be completely confident in our quality, we have our entire production facility regularly certified to ISO 9001 (since 2022). This gives you the assurance that every single OEM heat pump meets exactly the same strict quality standards as our own series products.

Over 30 years of accumulated expertise

SmartHeat Deutschland GmbH was founded in 2000, while the roots of our corporate group go back to 1991. Over these three decades, we have built heat pumps for almost every conceivable application – from compact solutions for single-family homes to demanding large-scale projects in the megawatt range. What quantities are possible as an OEM?

We adapt entirely to your market development: SmartHeat manufactures for you, from flexible small batches to ongoing large-scale series. Thanks to our international capacities, we also deliver high quantities absolutely reliably. To minimize your risk when entering the market, prototypes and pilot batches are a fixed part of our joint process.

Can the heat pump be delivered in our own design?

Yes, absolutely. We deliver your OEM heat pump either as a ready-to-install complete unit in your corporate design (white label) or as a precisely fitted assembly that you can easily integrate into your own existing housing.

What certifications does SmartHeat hold?

Our entire production facility operates according to strict, certified processes under ISO 9001. For product-specific certifications (such as CE marking or specific EU standard tests), we support you exactly to the extent you need: we prepare all technical data as well as refrigerant circuit documentation for your specific product and accompany the project through to final approval.
