Homburg is the district capital of the Saarpfalz district and, with around 42 thousend inhabitants, the third largest city in Saarland. In addition to numerous other leisure activities, the Homburg combined swimming pool is also located here, which, in addition to its bathing operation with several pools, also offers an extensive sauna area with Japanese-inspired architecture. This makes the "KOI" a popular attraction for young and old in the region.
In terms of energy, the KOI relies on SmartHeat, among other things. A special classic 013 WW absorbs the unwanted heat from the cold pool as source energy and uses it to cool it to the desired temperature of 15 °C. The heat pump operation then supplies the warm pool, using most of this energy. This means that it can be kept at a temperature of 35 °C with significantly reduced energy consumption.
The SmartHeat classic used here enables the exploitation of several advantages of modern heat pump technology through heat recovery:
The combined pool is therefore another example of the diverse and sustainable application possibilities of SmartHeat heat pumps - to the satisfaction of the operator and his guests. SmartHeat heat pumps can be found in many swimming pools, indoor pools and outdoor pools. A wide variety of sources come into consideration: cold water pools like here in Homburg or solar absorbers like in Juist, Emden, Singen and also Anweiler.
